Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is a good looking smartphone based on the Android 1.6 operating system. It was launched in February 2010 and created enough reviews to make it one of the most talked about smartphones. X10 Mini is available in six beautiful colours namely, Silver, Lime, Red, Pink, Pearl White and Black.

The 88 grams Sony Ericsson Xperia X 10 Mini is HSDPA 850/1900/2100, HSUPA 900/2100 3G network enabled phone. Its 2G network is GSM 850/900/1800/1900. Class 10 GPRS runs at a speed of 32-48 Kbps with Class 10 EDGE having a speed of 236.8 Kbps. Wi-fi 802.11 b/g version has been given in the phone. The phone has A-GPA support.

Websites like Google Web, Google Maps, Google Mail, Google Talk and YouTube have quicklaunches pre installed in the Xperia x10 mini. Other attractive applications installed in the phone are- document viewer, TrachID music recognition, Google Voice Search and Digital Compass. The Bluetooth version is v2.1 with A2DP. A microUSB v2.0 port for transferring of data has been given too.

Xperia X10 Mini mobile sports a good 5 mega pixels camera with LED Flash and auto focussing and geo-tagging functions. The video recording is done at 30 frames per second. The Android operating system has Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz central processing unit. The phone facilitates MMS, Push Email, Email, IM and threaded viewing SMS sending.

The music player installed in the X10 mini phone is compatible with MP3, eAAC+, WMV, WMA formats and the video player is compatible with MP4, WMV, H.264 AND H.263 formats. Stereo FM Radio with RDS is also given in the phone.

Performance of Xperia X10 Mini


X10 Mini has a Li-Po 950 mAh battery giving a backup of 4 hours talktime and 285 hours stand by time. Some users feel the back up t be poor whereas others feel it to be tolerable keeping in mind its fast and smooth user interface. The touch screen display does a good job as it has dual touch sensitivity.

The most remarkable things about this Xperia mobile phone are its still photographs and video recording clarity. The pictures come out excellently and viewing them on the 16 million colour display screen is a treat for the eye. Timescape is also a great application installed in the phone. It specialises in retrieving data from all communication modes to the homescreen. Navigating through the mobile by tapping or rotating is smooth and almost no jitters are experienced.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is a good android based smartphone available in wide range of colour choices. The phone is capable of earning applauds from the users because of the easy and smooth internet surfing experience and an apt price tag attached to it.
