Skoda originally launched its Scoda Fabia model way back in the year 2000. It falls under the C segment Hatchbacks. The Fabia got a makeover done in the year 2005 after which it earned popularity. This Hatchback has eight variants among which four are petrol variants and four diesels.

Design and Styling of Scoda Fabia

The designing of the exterior of the Fabia car is simple and not flashy. The cabin of the car has a good legroom and headroom but is not very wide. The cubbyholes and luggage storing area has good space. Double glovebox has been provided in the car.

Scoda Fabia's boot is also big enough to store shopping bags of a mid size family and the rear seats are foldable with good opening area of the tailgate. This Hatchback makes the passengers feel comfortable in the rear seats but people with a good height may feel a little uncomfortable. The front seats however have good legroom. This Hatchback can seat 5 passengers.

The designing of the Fabia dashboard is sober. The meter readings are bold and clear. The bumpers match the colour of the body of the car. The air conditioner of this hatchback comes with climate control sensitivity. The central locking is manual. Rear wiper, air conditioner vent and defogger are present too. The music system provided in this hatchback gives out good sound effects and can play MP3 CDs.

Engine and other Specifications of Scoda Fabia

Scoda Fabia diesel engine with displacement of 1422 cc gives out maximum torque of 155 Nm at 2400 rpm and maximum power of 68 Bhp at 4000 rpm. The 1.2 MPi petrol engine with a displacement of 1198 cc gives out maximum torque of 108 Nm at 3000 rpm at a maximum power of 70 Bhp at 5400 rpm. The size of the tyre is 185/60 R14.

The front brakes are disk and the rear drum. The ground clearance comes out to 146 mm and the kerb weight 1090 kilograms. Two trip meters, two airbags, three rear seat belts have been provided. The dimensions of Fabia are length- 3992 mm, width- 1642 mm and height- 1513 mm.

Performance of Scoda Fabia

Fabia is a tough hatch back whose handling is easy and convenient. The interiors of the car lack dynamism and look too simple. A more modern and contemporary design could have been given to the car. The car has less space in the rear which makes it not great enough for a mid size family. The car’s fuel efficiency is also not very impressive and just about fair. The driving experience of the car is decent.
