Nokia 7210 Supernova - A simple and sobre budget phone.

19. June 2010 by TechFren Staff 0 Comments

Nokia 7210 Supernova is a slim sleek looking phone with all the multimedia facilities one can ask for. After the basic Nokia 7210, Supernova comes out to be a big leap on the part of the company. People with low budget too can buy this handset and enjoy its multimedia features.

Features and Specifications

Nokia 7310 costs around Rs 7000 and seems a phone for the women folk.

The GSM 900/1800/1900 phone is just 69.8 grams in weight. Its TFT 25600 colour screen is sharp and the brightness and contrast setting of the phone are excellent. The screen is 2 inches with 240 x 320 pixels clarity. Viewing pictures in the handset is a treat for the eyes. The 106 x 45 x 10.6mm phone has 2.5mm audio jack.

The audio quality of the phone is also excellent. Music player fares out excellently, competent with express music phones by Nokia. The music player can play many audio formats. Stereo FM Radio with RDS is also provided in the phone. The phone sports a 2 MP camera with excellent picture quality.

Nokia 7210's  phone book can save 2000 contacts with the image of the caller too. Many other details of the person like email id, address, birthday etc can be saved with the contact information in the phonebook memory. The internal memory is 30 MB and the external memory can be expanded up to 2 GB.

The GPRS and EDGE are Class 32 with v2.0, A2DP Bluetooth. A v2.0 micro USB port is there in the phone for easy transferring of data in to your PC. The video gets recorded at 15 frames per second. SMS, MMS and Emails can be sent through the handset. The browser is WAP 2.0/xHTML and it is MIDP 2.0 JAVA based. Games available in the handset are Snake 3D, Bounce-2, Sudoku and Sea Sweeper. The set is available in the following colours: Bubble Gum Pink, Vivid Blue, Graphite, Black and Passionate Purple.

Performance

The Li-Ion 860 mAh BL-4CT battery backup doesn’t work too well. Although the battery backup claimed by the company is of 5 hours and 40 minutes but users report its battery backup to be around just 3.5-4 hours which is problematic. Nokia 7210 Supernova needs to be recharged a minimum of once every 24 hours to a maximum of twice every 24 hours.

The keypad has all the keys fall at the same level which is great when it comes to the looks and design but for users with a lot of SMS or internet usage the keypad becomes too uncomfortable to be handled.

The phone works smoothly with 1 GB memory card installed in it. With a 2 GB memory card the handset starts to hang sometimes. The picture quality and the sound are excellent and the sleek model fits in easily in the pocket or your purse.

The Verdict !

The Nokia 7210 Supernova phone is great for people with a tight budget as it is among the few such phones offering so many multimedia features.
