Maruti Eco Van - 7 Seater car ,good mileage and economical !

15. January 2010 by TechFren Staff 11 Comments

Recently Maruti has exposed its new car model in the name of Maruti Suzuki EECO(some say maruti eco car !). This new Maruti car is powered with 1200cc petrol engine clubbed to a five speed manual transmission with DSA.

Interestingly ! , most car experts are convinced that it is perhaps the new avatar of Maruti's old Omni Van .There are two versions of the new Eeco one 5 seater and another 7 seater minus AC.

Maruti Eco Engine & Mileage

Maruti Eeco Interior

The engine of Maruti Suzuki Eeco ranges with a maximum speed of 73bhp at standard 6000rpm
. The  torque power is sufficient to pull the wagon to any level of high without any stumble in the engine.

The shaft that links the engine with the wheels can withstand high torque and power. The car has a mileage of approx 14.0 km/l in city and 16.0 km/l on highways. The turning radius of car is 4.5 metres with suspension system which faciliates great confort on indian roads.

Further , the new car delivers the engine power to the wheels with less amount of energy loss. Technically speaking, Maruti Suzuki EECO is considered to be one of the best in the car market. Under the category of cheap cars, this new maruti van car seems to dominate all other cars in the price tag.

Car Interior and Safety

The new eeco is bigger and spacious 7 seater car and yet cheaper.

When coming to cars, the design of car’s body is very important. The design should have to be attractive to the customers as it’s the only parameter that stuck them at the first sight.

This maruti new car model 7 seater  has also crossed the design segment with its classic piece of design. This low cost maruti car has plenty legroom and headroom at the front and rear for passengers.Driving is also confortable due to ample space.

The extreme braking system is the added credit to the Maruti Suzuki EECO. The braking system of maruti eco van has ventilation disc followed by the brake drum at the rear end. This provides huge power to stop the car even if the car moves at higher speed.

Price and Variants of Maruti Eco

Maruti Eco review

The new Maruti EECO car has entered the market in three variant. Along with that 5 seater standard, 5 seater AC and 7 Seater standards are the other forms of rides available. The showroom price of three versions is approx 2.59lakhs, 2.85lakhs and 2.89lakhs respectively.

Performance & Drawbacks of New Maruti Eco

The drawbacks of the car and performance on the Indian roads is yet to be tested , however , from some of the user feedbacks , they are not too exited about the look of Maruti Suzuki Eeco but , who said ?, maruti makes great designer cars !

Hey i recently had a chance to see it..and noted a few things about this
car ---

The eko's front seats have ample leg room and i was comfortably placed in.Btw i am 5.11 inch

The second row in this car has a single half a bench;two adults is a tight fit there, the shoulders rub. The leg room is just adequate, or rather I daresay slightly cramped. But its ok, manageable.

The 3rd row is strictly for people under 5'4. My knees hurt when I was seated in the last row.

Cost cutting is evident, almost in-your-face.

Plastic looks real cheap.

The sales person has no clue whether its a K-series, each has a different answer. One common description from all was, "Sir, engine is 100% aluminium"

Fantastic ground clearance.

Tyres look puny. One look at the tyre and instant doubts will arise in your mind.

Turning radius is lesser than K series estilo. (Estilo- 4.6m, Ecko- 4.5m)

Huh ! 1200cc Petrol in 7 seater?
No idea if Maruti Eeco will attract customers unless they give it a diesel engine or atleast a more powerful petrol unit.

Visually Eeco, looks outdated but seems safer and better than the present omni .

It is disgusting to discover 7 seater Eco does not come with ac but a 5 seater does.
Any way to fit ac in 7seater eco car.

Eco is a good choice for family outings or friends, has ample space for luggage for a long weekend, it is a also a good alternate for the current OMNI which is very outdated and has no AC, the 7 seater ECO should come with AC and with LPG like Wagon R, i feel maruti has come up with a good option for the OMNI

Maruti’s new Eeco is a good car for family of 7, perfect alternative for the OMNI, is comfortable and competitively priced, It is the only 7 seater car in India in the range of 3 to 4 lakhs and that’s a very good option for the average middle family.

Its the poor man's INNOVA and rich man's Wagon R

Maruti should introduce a diesel version or LPG and market the car aggressively like the Ritz and A-star

Cheers Maruti!

Pls bring out a/c version of 7 seater eeco. Then it may sell like hot cakes. For those who are used to Maruti 800a/c, 5 seater version of eeco is not attractive. So pls come out with 7 seater a/c eeco and I will immediately switch over to eeco from Maruti 800

That would be a good and ergonomic car in my country, I'm sure that many of our people will buy it because it's cheap but still useful.
