20. June 2010 by TechFren Staff 3 Comments

The latest hatchback by Maruti Suzuki is Ritz. Unlike the company's latest low cost minivan maruti eeco 7 seater (also 5 seater), Ritz is  a powerful engine compact car with a very unique model design has become the talk of the town lately. It is among the most hyped and talked about cars of Maruti Suzuki. Its Japanese technology has a lot to offer to the users.

Design and Styling

Maruti has paid a lot of attention to the designing of Ritz. The look is compact yet sporty. Its exteriors are classy and the design of the backlights and headlights is very unique. The interiors are spacious giving good legroom to the people sitting in the car. The rear seat is able to be folded. The car performs excellently on the city roads and is capable of being taken to the highways.

Ritz's elegant design is surely a head-turner for most people. The dipper adjustments and the beam thrown by the headlights are clear and convenient. The bumpers of the car match the body colour giving it a very smart look. The wheels are alloyed. One of the very interesting features of the car is that the cabin lights are placed both in the front and in the mid.

The under tray of the front seat are placed accurately with also a music player in the front capable of reading CDs and pendrive USBs. Along with a digital fuel meter, clock and temperature barometer is present too inside the car. The power window adds to the stylish feel of the car. Ritz is available in the following colours: Midnight Black, Blue Blaze, Racing Green, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver, Baker’s Chocolate, Superior White and Fire Brick Red.

Engine and other Specifications

The 1200 cc K-series 1.2 litres petrol engine gives the Maruti Ritz mileage of a whooping 21 kilometres per litre! The diesel engine is 1.3 Litres DDiS with 1250 cc power. Its maximum power given out is 85 PS@ 6000rpm and a maximum torque 113 Nm@ 4500 rpm. The 5 speed transmission box is manual. The engine raced from 0-100 kilometres within 15.43 seconds. Ritz’s engine has been checked for E10 compatibility.

With a top speed of 160 kilometres per hour, the mean machine is a great performer on expressways. The tyre size is 165/80 R14. Just as the Swift, Ritz too is secured with Anti Lock Braking System. Dual front SRS airbags have been given in the car.

For protection against theft the Intelligent Computerised Anti Theft System is inbuilt in the car. Facilities of central locking and child lock are also given. Pretensioner works well for the security of the front seated passenger.

Drawbacks !

As far as the drawbacks are concerned, there are hardly any to be counted upon the only one being that the car is smaller for the expressways but it is seen to be great for any kind of city roads.

The Verdict !

The Maruti Suzuki Ritz is a revolution car, perfect for small families, great performer on road with excellent mileage and enviable stylish looks.

Maruti's Ritz is a value for money car. it has unique exterior looks, cool interiors with the blue theme. I am getting mileage of 17.5 kmpl with AC on. Ritz is stable at all speeds even above 130 kmph. Ride quality is good with firm suspension and Ritz is easy to handle too. Ritz, a overall good package!

Ritz is a nice car. Infact you can say that its the best car. Suzuki is is not expert in the small car segment. Ritz is sold as Splash around the world and has won the hearts of the people.
