The Lenovo ThinkPad L512 has emerged out to be part of the “Green” Revolution in the world of laptops. The design and look of the laptop is completely eco friendly. The layout of the laptop doesn’t fail to impress as it is new in this “Green” Category, taking up to 20% of lesser space than its counterparts.
Performance, Configurations and Performance

The 14.96x9.72x1.26-1.42 inches ThinkPad Lenovo L512 comes with Windows 7 Professional 32 bit Operating System with a 15.6 inch back lit LED WXGA HD Screen. The speciality of the screen is its anti glare feature. Comparing the screen graphics with other laptops of its kind, the ThinkPad Lenovo L512 is definitely not the best. Intel Core 13-350M Processor doesn’t make it too impressive but the memory does. It has 3 GB DDR3 RAM and 250 GB HDD with 5400 RPM by Hitachi. The 2.0 Mega Pixel Web Cam makes it convenient for chats.
The Lenovo ThinkPad L512 boasts of a 6-cell 10.8v 8 Wh battery giving a good backup. So once you start working on your laptop without connecting to the power socket, you need not worry as the battery back up has been found to be quite satisfactory. It weighs as light as 5.63 lbs giving an easy time while on the go.
Many alterations have been done in the design of the L series ThinkPad making it look more enhanced and comfortable. The finger print scanner system loaded in the laptop comes out as no surprise. For mobile broadband usage the laptop doesn’t emerge out as a winner.
The speakers too are average performers. The area where the laptop marks its positives is with the keyboard and the touchpad. Keyboard of the laptop provides the users with a black coloured palm rest making it very comfortable to use. Both the touchpad and the keyboard are extremely comfortable to use.The touchpad has been upgraded to Synaptics which comes out as a surprise for most users making it multi gesture friendly. Even the softest of the taps will be sensed by the touch pad.
The laptop gives out 3 USB 2.0 Ports and an Express Card/34 Slot. The eSATA/USB port, the VGA and Display Post connections are present too. The Bluetooth, Realtek 1 GB LAN and Intel 6200 AGN fare out pretty well. Gone is the rubber paint look around the chassis and enters a smooth black plastic look. The plastic finishing given out to the laptop makes it design appealing than the previous versions. So you won’t find the laptop rugged looks-wise.
Although the L Series resemble quite a lot with the SL Series but the few alterations made in the exterior and interior components makes the L Series stand a chance.
The Verdict !
The Lenovo ThinkPad L512 edges out other laptops because of its eco friendly features and innovations in its design.
