Features and Specifications
The display of the laptop has multi touch quality making it superior than other laptops of its type. The laptop weighs 5.3 pounds and has an 802.11n Wi-Fi version. With Intel Core i3 it also gives an option of choosing Intel Core i5 as the processor at the time of purchase. Its graphics are boosted by NVIDIA Geforce 310M, 512 MB. It has an expandable memory of up to 8GB DDR3 RAM with 500GB HDD but the company gives 3GB DDR3 with the system at the time of purchase.
The laptop boasts of Bluetooth 2.1 and a 34mm Express Card slot. The 6-cell battery back up provided by the laptop makes it all the more coveted. With 4 USB 2.0 Ports and an USB/eSTAT combo connector it gives good data transfer speed. As far as the web cam is concerned it has 2.0 mega pixels picture clarity with 1366x768 resolution of the screen.
The full QWERTY keyboard has separated convenient to use keys with a good performing multi touch gestured touchpad. Performance
One drawback of the set is that its transportation lock has been removed which is not very wise step on Dell’s part as per users’ feedback. 1520 Wireless- N Half Mini Card gives good WLAN connectivity. The OS preloaded in the system is Windows 7 Professional. The display is bright with a luminosity of 84% although the contrast is a bit lower not being able to adjust well with changing lighting conditions of the environment. The integrated GMA HD Graphic Chip Card does justice to the graphics making it easy while gaming. Games like Anno 1404 and Dirt2 give out great visibility effects with its graphic configuration. The 3D gaming experience with this laptop is quite satisfactory and most users give out positive feedback for it.
The system has seen to give out quite less noise and can bear a temperature as high as 45.8 degree Celsius. The sound quality of the speakers is good but the bass has seen to be poor at times. The power adapter consumes up to 64.1 watts while running and 14.9 watts when idle.
