Daihatsu Terios is like a brother to the Toyota Rush. Both the seven seater SUVs have a lot in common. Daihatsu is not new to the three rows seven seater SUVs bandwagon. Many of the likes have too been involved with similar SUVs with better or about the same performances.
Toyota Rush look-alike
Keeping minor differences apart, Terios and Rush have many things in common as far as the design and looks are concerned. Both are not extremely fancy but fall in the same powerful looks category.
People in love with powerful looks are being game for Terios. Multi seater is the automobile mantra these days and Terios is no different. The third row of Terios does not give much space.
Tall people would almost be crouching up there. The head room given to the vehicle is although decent. The rear windscreen will be in close proximity to the person traveling back there.
Last row Headrest is Absent
No headrests have been provided in the last row, however the first two rows does have them. If a little more than a usual bump on the road comes while traveling in the last row, you might have the risk of your head colliding with the windscreen.
The centre seat in the middle row has a lap belt. If you need to reach out to the first row from the last row, lifting of the middle row would be required as there is no push button system or any fancy operation system.
Good looking Taillights
The seating arrangement is all in all fairly comfortable except for the last row.The car has bold and muscular looks from the exterior. The build appears to be solid. The headlamp and the taillights have a smart design too.
Engine and Torque
Terios is powered by a 1495 cc engine with four cylinder, 16 valve, DVVT, DOHC engine configuration. The compression ratio comes to 10.00. The maximum power generated by the engine is 103 Bhp at 6000 rpm and the maximum torque comes to 140 Nm at 4400 rpm.
Acceleration and Fuel Efficiency
The Daihatsu Terios SUV accelerates from 0-100 kilometers per hour in 15.3 seconds. The top speed of Terios is 155 kilometers per hour. The total kerb weight comes to 1210 kilograms. The fuel tank has a capacity of 50 liters.
The front suspension of Terios is Mc Pherson strut with coil springs and the rear suspension is 5 link rigid axle with coil springs. The front brakes are disc type with booster and the rear ones are drum. The tyre size is 215/65 R16. The mileage comes to 11.6 kilometers per liter.
Overall !
The Daihatsu Terios is not the fanciest of the seven seater SUVs, but is not a complete loser too. You may not get the best driving experience or a super refined engine but the vehicle certainly looks muscular and bold.
